The 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP) is the world’s largest timed filmmaking competition. Teams are given 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film. Compulsory elements and random genres ensure creative chaos. At Imagine Fantastic Film Festival, the genres are of course science fiction, fantasy, cult and horror.  

Imagine is joining forces with 48HFP for the fourth time. Twenty teams will give it their all. The kick-off is on the evening of 17 October. On November 3rd, the films will be shown on the big screen during the festival, and the jury will award their favourites. The winner of Best Film will also be screened during Imagine’s Nieuw Nederlands Peil 3 shorts compilation and at Filmapalooza, the international 48 Hour Film Project film festival, taking place in Seattle in March 2026.
