The bus drops you at a lost motel where misfits dance out their secrets.
A bus drops you in the middle of nowhere, the Sunset Motel glowing across the road. You wander the lobby, the pool, the rooms, trailing the outsiders who live there as they silently tell you their stories through movement. Then something goes wrong...
Sunset Motel is lost in space and time, somewhere between Twin Peaks and Paris, Texas. Its atmosphere is uncanny, unsettling, Lynchian, and melancholic. Step inside the black-and-white world of Swiss scratchboard master Thomas Ott, where light is scratched out of darkness. Choreographer Gilles Jobin captures his misfits’ movements through motion capture, carrying their stories in their bodies. The motel unravels its secrets to the beat of the music, until a dramatic turn makes you wonder whether you were ever just a guest, or always the next chapter in this story.
