Facestime! Joining us for this one is director Fernando Alle, whose short film Borbuhla (Pimple) screened at Imagine 2025. It’s his first time in Amsterdam and he’s a bit jetlagged, but he’s still happy to talk about sci-fi as allegory, and about how his films are inspired by cartoon like Tom & Jerryand Wile E. Coyote (‘limbs and heads flying everywhere’). He also tells us that he saw Meet the Feebles when he was 12 (!) and that he’d love to ride a Delorean but would need a driver’s license first. Oh, and in case you were wondering: no, his films aren’t inspired by drugs or weird dreams. It’s all imagined, baby!
