Dutch genre filmmakers took over the basement of LAB111 the past three days for Imagine Industry, our annual programme for professionals. Inspiring times at Imagine Fantastic Talents – a talent programme featuring a script development workshop and networking opportunities – and Imagine Project Platform, a custom-made programme including pitches to a jury. And don’t forget the international participants of European Genre Forum!
At the closing drinks on Thursday 6, the 2025 Imagine Project Platform jury (consisting of Annick Mahnert (Fantasia, Sitges) and distributors Ilse van der Spoel (The Searchers) and Gabrielle Rozing (Imagine Filmdistributie)) announced the winners of the Imagine Pitch Award 2025. The prize, a trip to Frontières Co-Production Market in Montréal next summer, was awarded to *drumroll* XX, by director Nina Noël Raaijmakers and producer Fauve de Ruiter (Make Way Film). Congratulations!
XX is a feminist body horror film about a woman trying to regain her physical autonomy. Here’s what the jury had to say about the project: ‘For addressing an important subject that affects women around the world and for presenting an original story that immerses its audience in a haunting bodily experience, the Pitch Award goes to the project XX.’
