A documentary portrait of the eminent science-fiction writer Stanislaw Lem, contextualising the screening of Solaris Mon Amour, told from the perspective of the writer's wartime experiences. In it, writers, critics, filmmakers and experts follow the autobiographical threads the author of Solaris unwittingly smuggled into his books.
Taking the plot of the novel as a starting point, Solaris Mon Amour focuses on a space station orbiting an alien planet but operates as a rumination on human existence taking in questions about philosophy, identity, memory, and trauma.
