Wheatley (who directed films like Kill List, High-Rise, Rebecca and most recently, Meg 2: The Trench) began his career in advertising and first made short films before breaking through as a director of genre films. He's known for his distinctive style and his ability to switch between intimate arthouse and major studio productions. He mostly makes thrillers and horror, often incorporating black humour and satire.
