Fear Street: Prom Queen

Slasher fans will be treated well this summer with the return of Netflix’ original film series Fear Street. Following the initial trilogy, Prom Queen is a more unique entry into the series as it’s the first installment that hasn’t been directed by Leigh Janiak. The film follows the ‘It Girls’ of Shadyside High trying to get votes to become this year’s prom queen until an unusual nominee appears and the competition starts disappearing.
Lost in Starlight

Anime fans, tis one’s for you. Netflix is releasing its first original Korean animated film! Lost in Starlight, starring The Handmaiden‘s Kim Tae-ri and K-Drama sweetheart Hong Kyung, follows the story of star-crossed lovers Nan-young and Je-i in a romance drama that crosses the cosmos when one of them leaves for Mars.
The Life of Chuck

A life divided into three stories in fantasy/science-fiction drama The Life of Chuck from Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan. This adaptation of horror-legend Stephen King’s novella by the same name stars Tom Hiddleston as the unassuming Charles Kruntz, a.k.a. Chuck, who experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us.
28 Years Later

23 years after having made 28 Days Later, Danny Boyle finally returns to finish what he started with part three of his zombie trilogy, aptly called 28 Years Later. Returning with the likes of Jodie Comer (The Bikeriders) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), this (final?) installment follows a group of survivors living in a ruthless dystopia created by the original film’s rage virus, which is still plagueing the world 28 years later.

Take a trip down memory-lane with this remake of the 1997 teen-slasher classic! Starring an all-new cast (and some throwback cameos, as per the trailer), the story is again about a group of teenagers who cause a deadly car accident and decide to never tell a soul. That’s until they start receiving threatening letters…and dying. Get ready for a new interpretation of a fan-favourite by promising director Jennifer K. Robinson of Do Revenge fame.
