Authentic, charming anime about a young girl who can control time.
A girl from a modest fishing village happens across a device that allows her to control time. Pursued by a powerful organisation, she forges an alliance with a gangster. Together, they navigate the dangers of a hostile city.
The magical device in this charming anime is an original variation on the time-travel machines we’ve come to know and love, and seasoned screenwriters Yu Ao and Zhou Tienan skilfully explore the instrument’s possibilities in their directorial debut The Girl Who Stole Time. In this authentic story, time causes the loss of our loved ones, and the best remedy against time is spending it with others. This provides the film with an emotional core, without becoming heavy-handed. Supported by a fast pace, plenty of humour and a dash of romance, the protagonists overcome challenge after challenge.
