Handmade monsters and monstrously bad acting in this cult sci-fi classic.

A mysterious creature goes on a killing spree in a small town in rural America. Could it be related to the crash of a spaceship and the alien monsters on board? Thankfully, help is on the way in the form of a mysterious telepathic outsider.

Cult director Don Dohler is beloved for low budget horror/sci-fi classics like Nightbeast. The Alien Factor, his debut and a true cult hit, was originally going to be called Lance Sterling, Monster Killer, and was to feature no fewer than fifteen monsters. For budgetary reasons, there are only three. But boy do they deliver! The Alien Factor is a textbook example of bang-for-your-buck: jerky space lasers, hot glue spaceships, DIY creature suits, clumsy stop-motion, groovy hairdos and hilarious monsters giving it their all. To say the acting’s stilted would be an understatement. A true Z-movie, and a gorgeous cosmic low point in our theme programme A Tentacular Touch
