An Indigenous genre-bending home invasion comedy turns into a blood-soaked revenge thriller.

Ziggy, a young Mohawk woman, is offered her first gig as an online influencer for a seed and fertilizer company. When her cousin summons her back to the reservation, Ziggy is forced into a battle to save her people’s legacy, finding her power along the way.

Kaniehtiio Horn’s debut feature is an Indigenous genre-bending gem which she wrote, directed and stars in. More of a revenge thriller than a horror film, Seeds masterfully blends traditional revenge and home invasion tropes with real and profound Indigenous anxieties and the struggle against white capitalist colonialism. Starting of as a fast-paced comedy about identity and life in the reservation, the film slowly creeps into dark revenge mode with a uniquely Mohawk twist. Graham Greene, one of the most famous First Nations actors, adds to the Indigenous vibe by playing himself.
