A Fantastic blind date where imagination controls the image, not the other way around.
Step into a blind encounter where imagination replaces image. Two participants travel through surreal digital landscapes, from impressionistic deserts to pulsing nightclubs, gradually designing each other's appearance through their shared experiences. This multiplayer VR experience defies the superficiality of dating apps, emphasising who we are over how we appear.
Playful experiment ROAMance challenges the split-second swiping of dating apps, where a hurried glance can rob you of a meaningful encounter. Instead, like the wandering duo in Richard Linklater's Before trilogy, participants get to know each other while moving through Fantastic worlds that demand collaboration: acting in unison, finding each other, solving puzzles together. Built on principles of gender fluidity and diversity, ROAMance transforms strangers into co-creators of each other's virtual forms. Via initial separation, shared adventures and eventual re-awakening into reality, players will connect through curiosity rather than appearance — emerging energised by the mystery of the person they've just met.
