Ex-con Unique returns to Karenville, Ohio, to move in with his cousin and start over. But it doesn't take long before the town's resident racists – backed by the sheriff and a black-market organ operation – rub him the wrong way. Instead of settling into a quiet life, Unique starts working through a body count.
Written, directed and scored by RZA and executive produced by Quentin Tarantino, One Spoon of Chocolate shows its Wu-Tang, blaxploitation and grindhouse influences proudly. RZA throws every idea he has at the screen and lead actor Shameik Moore manages to hold it all together. Unhinged, blood-soaked, batshit, deranged, feral, unwell, possessed and completely off its rocker: One Spoon of Chocolate is – thankfully – that kind of film.
