Contemporary found footage horror movie about a dark conspiracy in a small Texas town.

Lucas Page from the tiny town of Larkin, Texas goes viral when he finds a strange VHS-tape with his name on it. He dives down the rabbit hole and gets caught in a web of unexplained phenomena and online conspiracy theories. After a desperate call for help, his sister shows up. Together, they unravel a bizarre mystery.

Man Finds Tape, directed by first-timers Paul Gandersman and Peter S. Hall, is a modern found footage puzzle told through a mix of VHS tapes, security footage, 911 calls, Zoom sessions, YouTube videos and Reddit threads. This is contemporary true crime detective work á la The X Files in its heyday. With its focus on cryptids and mission-driven investigators, Man Finds Tape reimagines cosmic horror for the digital age. An essential addition to our theme programme A Tentacular Touch, because, to quote the film: ‘The monsters that haunt the 21st century hide in plain sight.’

Short film: Saint Maria's Way

There are six million CCTV cameras in the UK. Does this technological omnipresence ensure our safety? Or doet it indiscriminately observe us, coldly documenting the present and creating flickering ghosts of the past? A eerily clever twist on found footage that gets under your skin.
