Ten years on, a new generation is following in the footsteps of Gareth Evans and The Mo Brothers. Ikatan Darah (Blood Ties) was produced by Iko Uwais’s production company, whose action choreographies were essential to the first wave’s success. Director Sidharta Tata uses the bond between the two siblings as the film’s emotional core and narrative drive, filling the gaps with fiery, bone-crushing martial arts and combat sequences.
