No zombies this time; Colony’s infected are fast and violent and evolve into creatures connected like a hive mind, adapting to their prey and coordinating their attacks. As can be expected from this director, the narrative moves quickly, while the claustrophobic skyscraper setting, elaborate choreography and kinetic camerawork sustain the tension throughout. While the horror also functions as a metaphor, exploring conformity and the erosion of individuality, this is first and foremost a wildly entertaining thrill ride.
