At a parent-teacher conference, three dads raise their hands when asked to volunteer at a summer camp on an island in the remote Klippvik Archipelago. Upon arrival, tensions quickly rise. What’s actually going on between the students in this class – and their parents?
Alex Schulman, best known for writing Triangle of Sadness and the novel The Survivors, makes his directorial debut with Adult Supervision, a gruesome psychological power struggle between daughters and their fathers, as well as amongst themselves. On the seemingly idyllic island, the bullying and abuse become increasingly disturbing as long-repressed memories are dragged into the open. Swedish stars Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings, and part of the Skarsgård dynasty) and Fares Fares (The Wheel of Time) are in the lead, with cinematography by Emmy award-winning Jakob Ihre (Chernobyl). A pitch-black, bleak comedy about parenthood, guaranteed to leave you traumatised.
