Whoops, we’re halfway through! But still going strong. We’ve got lots more (short) films and VR lined up for today. We’re also announcing the line-up for The Best of Imagine. If you feel like you’re missing out, catch up on Sunday 9 November with a marathon of five festival favourites at LAB111. The Best of will then go on a November tour to Utrecht, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Groningen. Find more about it below.

The Best of Imagine (on Tour)
Because we don’t like saying goodbye, we’re touring the country in November with five favourites from the 2025 programme. On the list: kung fu meets Rome, a Maori revenge tale, a hilarious time-travel film about two loveable losers, Anders Thomas Jensen’s bonkers latest, and a man stuck in a loo (with a big bag of coke). If that doesn’t sound like the best of Imagine, we don’t know what will.
The Best of… hits LAB111 in Amsterdam on 9 November, the final day of the festival. After that, we’re off to Louis Hartlooper in Utrecht (15 November), KINO Rotterdam (29 November), LAB-1 in Eindhoven (29 November), and Forum Groningen (30 November). The five films are listed below, and tickets are available from 12:00 on November 4th through our schedule or the On Tour page.
Today’s menu
You could call Redux Redux aka Find. Kill. Repeat (today at 16:30 and on 8 November) a family venture. Brothers Kevin and Matthew McManus were in charge of the script and direction, while their sister Michaela plays the lead – as the mother of a murdered daughter who enters parallel worlds on her bloody crusade. A revenge film with an original sci-fi twist.
Original and weird J-horror Mag Mag revolves around an urban legend in the guise of a murdered woman. Debuting director Yuriyan Retriever, a wildly popular comedian in Japan, mixes madness and humour expertly. See it today at 16:40 or on 8 November.
Canadian film Seeds, which is part of our Reversing the Gaze theme programme, is a clever mix of horror, thriller, and social commentary, in which a Mohawk woman takes on a powerful corporate opponent. Director Kaniehtiio Horn, who also stars as the besieged heroine, calls her film a ‘home invasion comedy’. Driven by a strong sense of justice, mind you. Screening today at 16:45.
Rites of Passage
You can still visit our immersive programme Rites of Passage all week – if you book a slot in time, that is. Through Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality, you will cross the threshold into other worlds, where the course of your journey is your own. And the other side is full of Dutch creators nowadays: Tibor de Jong’s Korstmos is a penetrating VR experience about mental isolation, with a soundscape by Tibor’s father, Erik ‘Spinvis’ de Jong. Soul Paint by Niki Smit and Sarah Ticho, winner of the SXSW Special Jury Award, lets participants visualise their own emotions. And in ROAMance, created by our own programmer Stanislaw Liguziński, you’ll take part in the most impressive blind date ever.
Our team tips for tomorrow and beyond
Expanded Cinema: She-Wolf (1983)
Stan, VR Programmer: ‘Discover Marek Piestrak’s supernatural masterpiece, but with a twist. This restored Polish horror classic will be reimagined by Dorota Masłowska’s hilarious, razor-sharp narration. Think Mystery Science Theatre meets a benshi performance.Truly unmissable.’

Roqia
Chris, General Director: ‘It’s always nice to stumble upon a film from an unexpected place, and when horror is used to express something profound. Roqia was a real find: it’s the first Algerian film at Imagine, and it features unsettling horror that deals with national traumas. A true discovery.’
