The frustration of this single mother who is judged at every turn by her community comes to a head when she becomes convinced that an evil Jinn has moved into their apartment. Against an ominous background of violence, the film mostly focuses on the maddening pressure on the woman. The gradually increasing tension of the film is nerve-racking. In the context of the current, female-led revolution in Iran, horror has rarely felt this relevant.
