A family in rural America is tormented by a centuries old curse in a tightly directed paranormal horror film.
Three brothers and a friend travel to the desert in search of the remains of a murdered witch. When the youngest brother accidentally spills some beer, they dig up more than they bargained for. They unleash a curse that has to be broken before sunrise.
The two directors lead the audience straight into a world in which paranormal phenomena are taken for granted by everyone. In this world, the witches live as stars in the sky, there is no escaping them. With minimal means, the filmmakers manage to achieve a maximum effect. A lot is left to the imagination, which only serves to increase the subtle threat. A number of creepy characters and a nighttime radio show with bizarre stories reinforce the feeling of inevitable doom.
