A van is driving across the Texan countryside. Inside are five friends on their way to one of their grandfather’s country home. They make the biggest mistake of their lives by taking on board a deranged hitchhiker… It is the beginning of a nightmare in which a family of cannibals and an ever-roaring chainsaw play the main roles.
On the occasion of its fortieth birthday, the film was given a digital polishing up, supervised by director Tobe Hooper himself. And while you may not expect it from this low budget production, the 4K restauration makes this classic look more sparkling and timeless than ever.
