Horror film critic Joel accidentally stumbles upon a self-help group for serial killers in this hilarious meta-horror comedy.

Joel, a film critic writing for a horror magazine, gets shitfaced drunk in a bar and wakes up to a weird self-help session, where serial killers exchange their experiences and grievances. In Vicious Fun director Cody Calahan creates a sizeable gallery of colourful characters, all blending and mocking known horror tropes. Vicious fun this is indeed, a hilarious meta-horror comedy.

Vicious Fun is a shameless meta-comedy, which is more about slashers than a proper slasher itself. With a bunch of killers in group therapy, sharing their deepest urges and obsessions, you’re bound to go for the laughs. What director Cody Calahan invests in is a sizeable gallery of colourful characters, all blending and mocking known horror tropes. Being a nerd, and an aspiring scriptwriter himself, Joel gets to be a meta-figure of the fan in the film, all of a sudden confronted with the realness of the situation but never losing his vocation. Vicious fun this is indeed, a hilarious meta-horror comedy.
