A large-scale pile-up in dense fog kicks off a spectacular and thrilling disaster movie.
A high-ranking official is on his way to the airport with his daughter, who’s going to study abroad. Dense fog causes a large-scale pile-up on the bridge in front of the airport. This leaves everyone stranded: regular drivers, but also an army vehicle with a mysterious, potentially lethal cargo.
Director Kim Tae-gon manages to deliver three disasters in one with Project Silence: the pile-up itself, the rescue attempts and the danger of the bridge collapsing, and the ever-increasing threat of the mysterious military cargo. As dictated by the laws of disaster movies, there’s a wide range of characters and a father and daughter with some emotional issues to work through. But unlike his predecessors, Kim’s main objective is not to criticise the first responders or the government – he first and foremost wants to provide a spectacular and thrilling film experience. Mission accomplished!
