It elevates the difficult search and encounter into a level of a full-blown drama by giving us an insight into the inner world of the main protagonist Marius for whom all the events are ground breaking and world-defining. What is even more important, is the fact that the fantasy world of Marius is governed by the genre films ranging from noir, through jidaigeki to horror. In a beautiful animated sequence, the film reaches its emotional climax.
