Black Dynamite is een bad motherfucker uit de school van Shaft, Superfly en Truck Turner. Nadat zijn broer is vermoord, gaat hij op zoek naar de daders. Daarbij ontdekt hij dat de ‘honkies' op slinkse wijze de seksuele macht van de zwarte man willen breken. Het complot wordt vanaf ‘Kungfu Island' geleid door een zekere Mr. Wu, die op zijn beurt in opdracht handelt van... tja, dat moet u zelf maar gaan zien.
Black Dynamite is een nagenoeg perfecte blaxploitation-parodie, tot en met de beeld- en geluidskwaliteit en de speciaal voor de film gecomponeerde, maar vintage klinkende soulmuziek. Eigenlijk verraadt alleen het steeds absurder wordende verhaal dat de film niet uit jaren zeventig stamt. Regisseur Scott Sanders spreekt dan ook van een hommage-parodie. Hoofdrolspeler Michael Jai White, die tussen alle grappen en grollen zijn gezicht strak in de plooi houdt, schreef mee aan het scenario, dat vooral werd geïnspireerd werd door de blaxploitationklassiekers The Mack, Three The Hard Way, Willie Dynamite, Avenging Disco Godfather, Dolemite, Slaughter en Black Belt Jones. Alles wat die films zo leuk maakte, zit ook in Black Dynamite. Dig it, sucker!

Black Dynamite is a bad motherfucker from the school of Shaft, Superfly and Truck Turner. After his brother gets killed he goes on a hunt for the murderers, and while searching he discovers that the ‘honkies' are scheming to break the sexual power of the black man. This conspiracy is lead by a certain Mr. Wu on ‘Kungfu Island', who in turn takes orders from... well, just go and see it.
