In the old days everything was better. Perhaps. What is certain is that not everything was simpler, like making a film for example. These days everyone owns a mobile, a flip cam and a computer and nobody really has an excuse NOT to make a film. But though YouTube may draw many visitors, the magic of the big screen can never be equalled. Just imagine... your own production in a packed theatre? Imagine can make it happen! Imagine goes back in time with a special retro programme this year, and next to the carefully selected feature films we would also love to show your ‘homemade' creations.

Win a festival premiere
- create a retro film or fake trailer with a length of no less than 15 seconds and no more than 15 minutes
- will it be blaxploitation (wear that Afro wig!), dodgy fifties SF, Italian giallo bloodshed, Burtonesque stop motion animation or daredevil Bruce Lee action? Everything is allowed, as long as it is retro and fits in with the Imagine vibe!
- put your production up on YouTube with the tags: ‘Imagine Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival' and ‘time capsule'
- Mail the YouTube url, the selected genre, a short description and your contact details to win@imaginefilmfestival.nl
- deadine is 10th of April, because:
- the 3 films with the highest YouTube rating are automatically selected for screening at the 26th edition, 14-24th of April in Amsterdam. In addition, a professional jury of genre specialists, historians and filmmakers will select three more films. Obviously, the selected filmmakers will be invited to this unique premiere.
